Downtown Toronto’s New IKEA Menu Offers Sweets and Drinks for Under $2

On May 25, the new IKEA in downtown Toronto will open at the corner of Yonge and Gerrard. Not only can you get affordable furniture and decorations in the new location, but also very cheap food at the in-store Swedish Deli.

Curiocity previewed the menu before the new store opened to the public and let’s just say it will satisfy your appetite and your wallet too.

First, IKEA’s famous $1 hot dogs will be available here, along with cinnamon rolls and $1.50 muffins.

For a dollar, you can get a regular-sized frozen yogurt or frozen strawberry treat, and sundaes are only $2.50 each.

If you’re hungrier, an order of 6-piece veggie balls served with potato salad, kimchi, and pickled chickpeas is just $5.49, and the 6-piece Swedish meatballs are two dollars more. .

As for drinks, you can get a regular 12oz coffee for $1, as well as a small espresso and Nordic fruit water in a variety of refreshing flavors for $1.50.

In addition to healthy meals and drinks available on-site, the Deli also sells take-out food and sustainably sourced essentials for cooking at home.

According to IKEA, this store “is the first store of its kind in Canada”, with a smaller store format, a unique food concept and a curated selection of products to buy that are ideal for small living spaces.

“The 66,000 square foot shopping destination will feature more than 2,000 products for immediate takeout, while larger pieces of furniture will be on display and available for home delivery,” says IKEA.

They also add that the space will be a cashless store that offers an easy and seamless shopping experience where customers can scan and pay for products using the IKEA app, as well as digital tools everywhere and multiple lanes. payment options available at both levels.
