Car and coffee cruise benefits family of late firefighter – Butler Eagle

ADAMS TWP – They came to help the family of the late Adams Area Fire District Vice President James “Jimmy” Ellis Jr. They stayed for coffee, cinnamon rolls and classic vehicles exposed.

The first Cars & Coffee cruise was held Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Classic Automotive Inc., 758 Route 228.

All money raised from the sale of Kairos coffee, Oram’s cinnamon rolls, a 50/50 raffle and tips placed in firefighters’ boots will go to Ellis’ widow, Cathy Ellis, and her sons. , Brady Michael and Ryan James. Ellis died last month from a sudden illness.

Ellis was seen as an integral part of the business. He helped build the Adams Area Fire Hall on Highway 228

Jason Safreed, Adams Area Fire District Chairman, said the fire district partnered with Classic Automotive to organize the an event.

Classic car owners learned about the event through word of mouth and reviews on the fire department’s social media.

“We are expecting a few hundred cars. We’ve got pretty good turnout so far,” Safreed said.
